The Carrotworkers Collective is a group of unpaid interns working in cultural industries around London. Interns are routinely being used in a range of sectors as free, precarious labour under the auspices of gaining ‘work experience’. Usually interns are recent graduates or students, and these internships are not only exploiting vulnerable young workers but also undercutting the existing pay, conditions and security of existing workers.
CWC is a collective that supports interns and conducts really interesting research on voluntary labour.
